Mission Europe: Regions and the shaping role of R&I instruments, 9th of october 2019, Brussels

North-East Romania Regional Development Agency, together with Kainuun Etu, Smakuj Lubelskie, Sørlandets Europakontor, Art-Er Attrattività Ricerca Territorio and Cities Northern Netherlands, hosted a session focused on "Mission Europe: regions and the shaping role of future R&I instruments" during European Week of Regions and Cities  7-10 October 2019.

The main topics were:
- What should policy makers and regional practitioners do regarding innovation policy in times of disruption?
- How to prepare for the future (new concepts, new problems, new money)?
- WIRE X Conference conclusions and the Strategic Planning of the future Horizon Europe
- Insights: European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder and the FET
- Innovation absorbing capacities and the downstream/upstream innovation
- Peripheral regions, medium and small cities and social challenges
- The impact of RIS3 on regions, synergies and social innovation.

Innovations in Food Europe 2019, 23-24th October 2019

With the constantly changing demands in the food industry, as well as the rise in health conscious individuals, the food industry faces changes in the near future. It will not only have to adapt to them, but also work together with other players in the industry to thrive.

ACI’s Innovations In Food Europe conference will take place in London, UK on the 23rd and 24th of October 2019.

The conference will discuss:

- New policies and regulations in the food industry,
- How to keep up with changing demands and trends
- Addressing opportunities in the market brought by lifestyle changes
- How to thrive in the industry as both a start-up, or a larger company.

These are all very current topics and should be a great asset to players in the food & beverage industry.

The Innovations In Food Europe Conference will bring together distinct and influential stakeholders from the value chain. They are going to discuss the latest challenges and developments making an impact on the industry. The topics will be the need for clean labels, and the opportunities brought by millennials.  At the same time speakers  will examine differing diet lifestyles as well as the need for adult soft drinks. These will be presented using case studies, interactive panels, single presentations, as well as a lot of discussions and networking opportunities.

10th International Conference on Interoperability for Enterprise Systems and Applications, 23rd - 27th March 2020, Tarbes (France)

The I-ESA conference connects the world's leading researchers and practitioners of enterprise interoperability and related domains, including interoperability aspects of enterprise systems and application. It joins new business models, smart services, IoT and Cloud technologies. All these current and future technologies cannot work smoothly without interoperability. I-ESA will be an outstanding opportunity to exchange experiences and business ideas between researchers, service providers, entrepreneurs and industrial stakeholders throw research papers. The Conference welcomes submissions of full papers in the scope of the conference. The maximum paper length is 10 pages. Accepted papers will be published in "Enterprise Interoperability IX (2020)". It will be indexed in Web of Science (WoS) in the "Conference Proceedings Citation Index- Science" which is inside the "Web of Science Core Collection", and in SCOPUS.

Industry 4.0, smart cities, Internet of Things, big data, digital transformation are the main paradigms and technologies of the  ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ERA. This ERA requires a foundation for seamless and secure communication called “interoperability”. Moreover, the cooperation between different organizations such as manufactures, service providers, government requires intelligent “Enterprise Interoperability” as well as applications and systems. I-ESA 2020 is a forum where industry and research worlds meet and share experience, ideas and challenges on all aspects of enterprise systems interoperability and Artificial intelligence.

SMART REGIONS Conference 3.0: Transformation through Smart specialisation, 14-15th november 2019, Brussels

Changes in climate, technology, and demography are transforming our societies and way of life. Europe must lead the transition to a healthy planet and a new digital world. The Smart Regions conference will be a good occasion to strengthen the links between people, nations, and institutions. Between expectations and delivery of smart specialization strategies. Between words and deeds. People of Europe who design, implement and master regional economic development through innovation will discuss where and how it makes sense for public authorities to act, leaving European, national, regional and local actors to deliver where they are best placed to do so.

The European Commission, Member States and Regions will present achievements in the current financial period 2014-20 and key directions for smart specialization as a tool for an effective economic transformation in 2021-27.

It will focus on three topics:

- Boosting innovation-led growth in the EU industrial transition regions
- Supporting the catching up EU regions to close the innovation gap
- Integrating regional economies in the global value chains
